- Pop. 1,250. In Pittsburgh T., Frontenac C., at the mouth ofthe Cataraqui R. on C. Rd. 2, 1.5 km E of Kingston.
- Immediately south is Point Frederick where the Royal Naval Dockyard was established in the early 1800s, many of whose employees settled at Barriefield.
- St. Mark's Church, an early Gothic Revival structure, was built in 1843 with funds subscribed by the British Admiralty and early settlers. The community is named after Robert Barrie, commander of the Kingston dockyard 1818-1835.
