- Pop. 260. In Richmond T., Lennox and Addington Cs., on Sucker Cr. and C. Rds. 11 & 41, 43 km W of Kingston.
- The community was first called Gallagher's Corners after a Mr. Gallagher who operated a tavern.
- The village was laid out by John McKim. The post office opened in 1853, when early settler Edward Storr gave it the name Selby after his hometown in Yorkshire, England.
