  • Pop. 901. In Loughborough T., Frontenac C., at the SW tip of Sydenham L. on C. Rds. 5 & 19,32 km. N of Kingston.
  • The first post office, opened in 1836, was named Loughborough after the township.
  • In 1883 the name was changed to Sydenham to honour Charles Edward Poulett Thomson, Baron Sydenham, governor-in-chief of British North America 1839- 1841.
